Keely Hodgkinson Crowned 800m Queen of New York at Athlos 2025

British Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson ended her injury-hit season on a high, winning the 800m at the all-female Athlos meeting in New York. Hodgkinson finished in 1:56.53, impressing the crowd at Icahn Stadium in only her sixth race of the year.

Hodgkinson Overcomes Injury

After missing several months due to a hamstring injury, Hodgkinson returned to the track and claimed her victory with ease. “I’ve barely raced this season, so it was probably less of a struggle for me to go out there and give it my all,” she said.

Fellow Briton Georgia Hunter Bell, the world silver medallist, finished second in 1:58.33, while St Vincent’s Shafiqua Maloney took third in 1:58.57.

Brittany Brown Shines in Sprint Double

American sprinter Brittany Brown, the 200m bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics, surprised fans by winning both the 100m and 200m events. She clocked 10.99 in the 100m and set a personal best of 21.89 in the 200m, showing remarkable form after months away from competition due to surgery.
